WATERTOWN -- A Jefferson County man was arrested this week after police say he stole merchandise from the store where he worked.
According to State Police, 23-year-old John A. Garcia of Colonial Manor in Watertown faces charges of felony falsifying business records and felony grand larceny. Troopers say he made several unauthorized purchases and markdowns at the JC Penny store in Salmon Run Mall totaling $2,883. Police say these incidents took place between November 12 and December 18, while Garcia was an employee at the store.
Garcia was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to return to Town of Watertown Court on January 6 to answer the charges.
