TOWN OF HASTINGS -- Two Oswego County residents were arrested Wednesday after police say they broke into a home and stole valuables.

According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, at just after 11:00 Wednesday morning deputies arrested two suspects for an alleged break-in at a home in Hastings in August 2010. Police say after their investigation they have charged 17-year-old Nicole L. Briest of Mexico Street in Altmar and 20-year-old Tyler S. Smith of State Route 69 in Parish with felony grand larceny after they allegedly smashed a window at the residence, then entered and stole electronics and coins.

Briest and Smith were arraigned in the Town of Hastings Court. Smith was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail, while Briest was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to return to court on January 5.

Police say the case remains under investigation.
