Church is re-organizing to keep programs going
The Church of the Assumption Church on Syracuse's Northside, is doing some administrative changes to consolidate its resources, and to keep serving the community.
"The purpose of this is to sustain the Church and make the parish stronger," says Brother Ed Falsey, OFM Conv. All the outreach services are being consolidated under the church itself, though Falsey says they will not move, physically.
Those services include the food pantry and the Poverello Health Clinic, which is open to all without health insurance, as well as a credit union.
The services are provided by the Franciscan friars and nuns, as well as professionals, but volunteers are also always needed. Franciscan Collaborative Ministries at www.FranciscanCM.org http://www.FranciscanCM.org for more information.
