Also 'rewards' for students who come to cheer
The High School Battle of the Bands is coming up, with the signup coming up even sooner.
Bands need to be registered by Monday. There is a $40 registration fee and all band members must be high school students. The showdown is January 15th at the Jewish Community Center in Dewitt, and besides bands, there's also an incentive for students from the bands' high schools to come and cheer: "For each student in attendance, a one dollar donation will be made to their respective student council," says Ilario Huober, the teen services coordinator at JCC.
The title is up for grabs with the first place band out of the running. The second and third place bands will be competing. The winning band gets a $200 cash prize and will be featured at the SPOT music showcase in the spring.
