SYRACUSE -- Three people, two children and a woman, were taken to a Syracuse hospital tonight after a house fire on West Colvin Street.

Firefighters on the scene tell CNYcentral those who were taken to the hospital were first evaluated on the scene for breathing in too much smoke. They got out of the house after being alerted by smoke detectors.

Our crew on the scene reports there is very little damage to the home, and crews are still on the scene cleaning up and investigating what touched off the fire. They believe it started in the kitchen.
