HOUSTON (AP) -- Wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords now has a tube to drain excess fluid from her brain, but her condition has improved and she'll move to a rehabilitation facility today.

Her doctors at Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center Hospital in Houston determined that she is ready to move to a rehab facility at the same hospital. A statement posted on the hospital's website says her condition has been upgraded from serious to good.

Doctors say everyone makes cerebrospinal fluid, but an injury can cause the fluid to not be cleared away fast enough. A backup can cause pressure and swelling in the brain.

Giffords had been kept in intensive care since she arrived Friday at the Houston hospital from Tucson, Ariz., where she had been hospitalized since being shot in the head and critically wounded Jan. 8.
