OVID, SENECA CO. -- Two Seneca County barn owners are picking up the pieces following a devastating fire that destroyed their barn.

It happened Wednesday night at 3207 County Road 138 in Ovid. Seneca County Sheriff's deputies say Richard and Kelly Zona heard a loud pop in their barn, then noticed it was on fire.

The bar and attached shed were destroyed, causing an estimated $60,000 to $70,000 in damage. The property was insured, and there was minimal damage to the couple's home.

Fire investigators think the flames were caused by an electrical problem.

Ovid firefighters along with Lodi, Romulus, Interlaken and Trumansburg fire departments worked to put out the flames.

No one was hurt.
