Onondaga County's Health Commissioner is on a campaign to get more people immunized from the flu.  Dr. Cynthia Morrow says the number of flu cases is increasing now---we're coming into peak flu season---but there's still time to get a shot (or nasal spray) and get immunity built up.
Morrow says there's no truth to the widely-held belief that you can get sick from the shot itself.  She says there may be a mild reaction, but that people who come down with the flu were actually exposed before they got the immunization.
