ONEIDA COUNTY -- An Oneida County man died Saturday morning after he lost control of his snowmobile during the Boonville Snow Festival.
Sheriff's deputies say 43-year-old Peter Scouten of Forestport lost control on a turn on the second lap of the three lap race. They say he separated from his sled and slid head first into the snow embankment of the track. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
