A well known children's author from Syracuse is among those stranded in Egypt, where protests have been raging for the last week.
Bruce Coville and his wife Kathy left for Egypt on January 20th. Coville's assistant tells CNYcentral the author has been on a speaking tour at American schools in Alexandria and Cairo.
Coville was supposed to fly back home on Tuesday, but that flight was cancelled. He's now tentatively booked on a flight leaving Wednesday morning.
Coville's assistant says they have been in contact through email, when possible. Coville's last email said he and his wife were safe in a hotel in Giza, limited by the curfew.
Coville is well known for his books, including The Unicorn Chronicles, and the My Teacher is an Alien series.
