Updated 11:00 pm Sunday:

Sprint customers trying to call Onondaga County's 911 should be able to do so again tonight.  Earlier today, those calls weren't going through.

Earlier Coverage:

Onondaga County's 911 says Sprint wireless phones are having problems calling in emergencies.   Sprint is notified, and is troubleshooting the problem.  However, until it is fixed, Sprint Wireless customers should use a land line phone if possible, when calling the emergency dispatch center.

Onondaga County 911 says the situation is under control on their end.

Sprint has not returned a phone call to their office.
