HERKIMER -- Power is out for an estimated 1,600 National Grid customers in Herkimer County.
The power outage is blamed for a two hour delay for the Junior-Senior High School in the Herkimer Central School District.
The power outage also prompted Herkimer Community college to delay opening until noon.
National Grid's web site says the utility expects the power to be restored at about 9:45 a.m.
