SYRACUSE -- A man is arrested after Syracuse police say he threatened a firefighter with a knife.

It happened around 8 pm Sunday. Police say the victim was driving a fire vehicle on the 100 block of Rockland Avenue in Syracuse making sure the hydrants weren't buried in snow. Police say 50-year-old Johnny Perez was standing in the street obstructing traffic. When the firefighter beeped for Perez to move, police say Perez showed a knife and threatened the firefighter.

No one was hurt. Perez was charged with among other things criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, resisting arrest. He is being held at the Justice Center and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
