NEW YORK (AP) -- Some couples have an Empire State of mind this Valentine's Day.
Fourteen couples from eight states are expected to exchange vows at the Empire State Building in New York City beginning early Monday morning.
The couples were chosen for their winning love stories in a nationwide contest hosted by TheKnot.com.
Grand prize winners Stephanie Hull and Air Force Capt. Jon Wu will exchange vows on the 86th-floor observatory during a sunrise ceremony. The Louisville, Ky., couple said that getting married at the skyscraper would be the "pinnacle" in their relationship.
Other couples include New York City firefighters who met on the job and a Glendale, Calif., couple who said they met as sixth graders and were brought back together by "fate."
The ceremonies will take place every 30 minutes.
