SYRACUSE -- The man who used to represent the Utica-area in Congress now has a new job. Michael Arcuri has joined the Syracuse law firm Hancock Estabrook.
Arcuri, a two-term Democratic Congressman, was defeated in the November elections by GOP businessman Richard Hanna. It was a rematch for the two, as Hanna came close to capturing the seat two years ago.
In joining Hancock Estabrook, Arcuri plans to focus on litigation, government affairs and corporate law.
"Hancock Estabrook offers me the perfect platform to transition from the public sector back into the practice of law with an excellent Firm where I can continue to serve my individual and business associates," Arcuri said.
Arcuri represented the 24th Congressional District from 2007-2010. Prior to that, Arcuri was the longest serving District Attorney in Oneida County history, where he helped to create the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
