OSWEGO -- Four people are facing federal charges after allegedly making counterfeit money and using it to make purchases in Oswego County.
Authorities say Anthony Paris, Kristy Guilds, Jeremy Rowe and Mitch McQuaid made phony ten and twenty dollars bills inside a Hamilton Homes apartment in Oswego using a printer they took with them from Buffalo.
In mid-June, authorities say Paris used a fake 20 dollar bill to make a purchase at a McDonald's in Mexico. Days later, authorities say Paris and McQuaid stole two ink cartridges from a Wal-Mart in Oswego. That same day, authorities say McQuaid tried to use a 20 dollar bill at the KQ Restaurant just down the street from Wal-Mart. He then tried to pass a 10 dollar bill at Bosco and Geers -- a grocery across the street from where the four were allegedly working out of.
If convicted, the four face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
