Colder this morning than yesterday, but warmer in the afternoon
Just like yesterday, no record low temperatures were set, but the frigid feel again this morning was our top weather story. Some of us had to scrape frost off our cars in sub-zero weather. Did you have any frost to clear? If so, I hope you were wearing gloves. Did your car start up? Tell us your story by commenting on this web story at the bottom of the page. After our bitter beginning, nearly 100% sunshine and milder atmosphere today should allow the high temperature to get to a place we have not seen since before sunrise Saturday! Expect readings to reach close to 30°.
Read the list of the bitterly cold temperatures that occurred in our area this morning. The coldest wind chills this morning occurred at the airport in Ithaca and Elmira where the winds stayed higher than most areas. This wind chill chart shows approximations of frostbite times with how cold the wind chill. Keep this chart handy when the weather turns arctic like this.
