Fire burns home on Onondaga Nation land

ONONDAGA NATION -- Fire crews are cleaning up the scene after a fire on the Onondaga Nation reservation Thursday morning.

The Onondaga County 911 Center tells CNY Central that the fire on the Onondaga Nation is knocked down and crews are overhauling.

The report of a working structure fire at a residence at 3522 Route 11A on Onondaga Nation territory south of Syracuse came in at 7:02 a.m.

No word on any injuries.

Fire crews from several surrounding communities were called to the scene to assist. 

The local Red Cross says it is providing disaster assistance to the family of four affected by the fire.
