UTICA, ONEIDA CO. -- Cleanup crews in Utica had some work to do Friday morning after a salt truck spilled its load all over the road.

According to Utica Police, Broad Street between John Street and the North Genesee Street bridge was shut down for a couple of hours when a Department of Public Works truck lost its cargo of road salt. Police say the truck's hopper overturned, spilling salt all over the roadway.

Police say no one was injured, and there was no other vehicle involved in the accident. The salt hopper in the back of the truck broke free and fell over, but the truck remained upright.

Broad Street has since reopened to traffic.
