OSWEGO -- Police in Oswego have started an investigation after a man was found dead Friday morning.

According to Oswego City Police, an officer responded to a report of a disabled vehicle on Mitchell Street near the Oswego Industrial Park just before 9:00 a.m. Upon arrival the officer says he found a man inside his vehicle, and unresponsive. The man was removed from the car by emergency personnel and taken to Oswego Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police have identified the man as 68-year-old Wayne D. Merrill of Minetto. The Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office is handing the case, and police say at this time it appears that Merrill may have suffered some sort of medical condition while driving.

Police say the case remains under investigation.
