For planning gardens as well as enjoying now
The area's flower growers and landscapers are getting ready for their big spring show: CNY Blooms opens Thursday evening with a preview, and is open next Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Syracuse's Oncenter complex.
Tim Ballantyne, chair of this year's show, says there will be a dozen competition gardens, plus a centerpiece 'field' of tulips.
Special events include a children's garden and a women's program. Ballantyne says there will be talks and displays through the show's run, aimed at helping plan home gardens for the upcoming season.
