BRIDGEPORT -- Update, Monday, 1:25am:
We just got off the phone with Onondaga County 911. They say the 'all clear' has been given at the scene along West Murray Drive at Oneida Lake.
Initially, there were reports of 2 snowmobilers crashing through the ice and into the water. Crews worked under that suspicion for about a half-hour. After a search of the shoreline and speaking with those at the scene, rescue crews determined it was an unoccupied snowmobile that plunged into the water.
Original Story:
Around 12:45am, Onondaga County 911 reported 2 snowmobilers plunged into the waters of Maple Bay, which is part of Oneida Lake. 911 Dispatch reports the 2 went into the mouth of the bay, about a quarter-mile from shore.
Emergency crews report not being able to see anything on the surface when they arrived.
