ONONDAGA CO. -- Today marks the first day of a series of crackdowns by police agencies in the Syracuse area. All local police departments as well as the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department and State Police are participating. Each month they will target a specific violation.
Starting today, police will be targeting drivers with window tinting that is too dark. Next month, police will concentrate their enforcement efforts on people who talk or text on their cell phones while driving.
Police will also be enforcing the seat belt policy and the new Move Over Law in the months ahead.
