MANLIUS -- Students at Fayetteville-Manlius High School are carrying on a proud tradition that dates back 20 years.
Dance Marathon 2011 capped off another successful fundraising campaign for Camp Good Days on Keuka Lake. This year, students raised more than $127,000, topping their goal of $120,000. Within that total is the one millionth dollar raised overall for the camp for kids touched in some way by cancer. Students say the fundraiser is a total school effort.
"We have 14-hundred kids here (Dance Marathon 2011), but we only have about 16-hundred kids in our school," said senior Shane O'Connor. "So it's almost our entire student body getting behind this event -- and by 9 o'clock, to have that many kids all here to do such good work for a good cause is amazing."
Students have been dancing seemingly all day to celebrate this year's accomplishment. They say it's amazing to see how generous the community is year after year.
