A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car in the Town of Leray.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says 44 year-old Barry Bernard of Evans Mills was struck by a vehicle as he was crossing the road near his residence on County Route 46 at around 9 P.M. Saturday night.
He was transported to Samaritan Medical Center where he later died.
The driver of the vehicle was 67 year-old Diane Spear of Theresa. Spear and a passenger were treated by medical personnel on the scene and later released.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate the death.
