First time for event here
Chad Fortune will drive (or fly) his Superman truck at tonight's Monster Jam
Chad Fortune...dressed in his 'Superman' uniform...paid our studios a visit, ahead of tonight's Monster Jam tour stop.
(Monster trucks are 12' tall and 12' wide built to negotiate tall and steep obstacles, and as Fortune says, to fly.) Racing is one element, but so is 'freestyle'. Fortune, a former Louisville and NFL player and wrestler, says he's walked the course to see the consistency of the tons of dirt put down for tonight's event, but won't actually drive on it til showtime, and expects to put on an aerial, as well as an on-ground show.
The crowd-pleasing tour is in this country now, but also travels to Europe, Asia and Central/South America through the year.
Fortune says the crowds there, come for the same reason as here in the states: family based fun.
30,000+ are expected at the Carrier Dome for tonight's 7pm event, and Syracuse Police suggest parking at Manley Field House: close-in Dome lots are full with equipment and Pit Party equipment.
