Competition is free to watch
The Woodsmen at SUNY ESF are getting ready to host college teams from all over the northeast and Canada for lumber games.
The ESF Woodsmen (the team includes men and women) competes several times a year, with axes, chainsaws and more, in such categories as horizontal chop, axe throw, pole climb, and cross-cut.
Team member Mike Eveland came to our studios to show off his axe and chain saw (much heftier than your typical home version!) and to invite families to come watch the East Coast Lumberjack Roundup, which will be staged on ESF property at 452 LaFayette Road (across from LaFayette Country Club). The match is on Saturday, March 26th, 8am - 4pm, and is free to watch.
