Final cover to feature CNY Chief Meteorologist Wayne Mahar
SYRACUSE -- A new local magazine dedicated to showcasing Syracuse will go to print for its final time after publishing just three issues.
Syracuse Magazine, the bi-monthly magazine featuring the best of what Syracuse has to offer, will end its run in the publishing world six months after its launch. That's according to a statement issued to CNY Central by publisher Zack Belil.
"We simply faced the same forces that have already knocked far larger titles from print," Belil told CNY Central. "The downturn in print advertising, the increasingly specialized story and photography needs of our core readership all worked against Syracuse Magazine's sustainability."
We first featured the magazine last fall when it was making its debut.
Belil was later a guest on Today in Central New York on NBC 3 promoting the magazine.
The final issue will feature CNY Central Chief Meteorologist Wayne Mahar on the cover. The final edition will be published online Friday, March 18th.
