Pedestrian hit by truck, charged with pot possession

NEDROW -- An early morning crash leaves a pedestrian hurt. It happened around 6:10 a.m. on State Route 11 on the Onondaga Nation.

State police say man was driving a delivery truck on Route 11 when he hit a man walking on the road. Police say Marvin Johnson, 32, of 371 Furman Street, was wearing dark colored clothing while walking in the driving lane. They say the truck driver was unable to see him. He swerved, trying to avoid hitting him, but hit Johnson with the passenger side view mirror.

Johnson suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. When he got to the emergency room, police say, he had a small quantity of marijuana and was issued an appearance ticket.
