With the Syracuse City School Board poised to offer a three year contract to Sharron Contreras as next superintendent, the managing editors at CNYcentral have put together a list of things the next SCSD leader must do to be successful. Matt Mulcahy and Michael Benny revealed the list during The Talk @ 10 on Tuesday night on the CW6 News at Ten.
It's no secret the district is facing many problems, but there is also great potential. The list of must-do's for the next superintendent is as follows:
Fulfill the promise of Central Tech
Never say Swing Space again, renovate
Expand Hillside Work Scholarship
Dream Big and support Say Yes
Convince City Hall you know more than they do about running a school system
Finally, we added "Be Inspiring," be a force in the entire region to change what needs to be changed to make those in suburban districts envious of the education provided in the City of Syracuse.
