Taste of Success is Friday evening

Taste of Success is a wine, beer and culinary event in its second year, with benefits to the Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection.

Wayne O'Connor, the Hillside executive director, says the program is mentoring 900 students in Syracuse City Schools, working after school and during vacations to keep them on track academically.  O'Connor says almost all are at or above grade level, and the second part of the 'contract' is to find them jobs if they succeed.

This year's Taste of Syracuse is set for Friday evening 5:30 - 8pm at the State Fairground's International Pavilion.
It will feature Wegmans executive chefs preparing food, plus 125+ varieties of wines and select craft beers.  Tickets ($40) are available at Syracuse-area Wegmans stores.
