SYRACUSE -- Foreclosure rates in Syracuse are on the rise, increasing in December over the same period last year. That's according to new data just released by CoreLogic.

The rate of foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans was 2.63 percent in December 2010. That's a 0.64 percent increase from December 2009 when the rate was 1.99 percent.

On a positive note, Syracuse's foreclosure activity is lower than the national foreclosure rate which was 3.58 percent in December 2010.
