Support groups start in April and June
New support help is starting in the Syracuse area, for people with BPD: Borderline Personality Disorder has symptoms including instability of mood, self image and relationship issues, chronic feelings of emptiness and/or struggles with emotional control (including anger management).
Blake Bazel, a psychology intern at SUNY Upstate, is setting up Creativity Groups, which will allow people involved to express their concerns through art and other artistic expressions, as well as talk. The first eight-week sessions start in April, to run either Monday or Wednesday evenings. A second set will start in May. Bazel says the support will be free, but participants must already have an individual therapist.
