SYRACUSE -- Fire investigations say this morning's house fire in Syracuse was suspicious, and they believe, it may have been set.
The was the second time in six weeks the home on Hickory Street went up in flames.
"We did have a previous fire here so this house being vacant obviously this fire would be suspicious," said Deputy Fire Chief Bill Mitson.
This morning's fire was first reported around 4:30 a.m. at a vacant home along the 500 block of Hickory. Syracuse firefighters had to evacuate the building.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries, and were treated at the scene. Investigators continue searching for what sparked the flames.
Firefighters battled a fire at the same location on February 16th. In that fire, crews were able to locate six people inside the home, and everyone made it out safely.
The house is across the street from the St. Joseph's Hospital complex. Part of Townsend Street was shut down for much of the morning as fire crews worked on the scene. The road has since re-opened.
