SCIPIO, CAYUGA CO. -- A Scipio man pleads not guilty in his father's death.

Michael Gallow, 28, was arraigned in court Thursday morning. He continues to be held without bail.

He is charged with 2nd degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say he shot his father Bernard Gallow, 58, to death at their Scipio home earlier this month.

He was shot in the head with a .22-caliber rifle in a garage about 20 yards from his home. He was a retired Cayuga County Sheriff's deputy, who worked for more than 20 years as a road patrol deputy.

Police have not yet released a motive for the crime.

Gallow is due back in court on June 2nd.
