SYRACUSE -- It's a story the Catholic Church chalks up as legend -- brought to life by Syracuse author Donna Woolfolk Cross. Tonight -- the story and film come full circle.
Pope Joan, which already debuted in Europe, makes its US red carpet premiere this evening at the Palace Theater in Syracuse. The movie is based on the international best seller, which tells the story of Pope Joan -- a woman who served as Pope for two years disguised as a man in the ninth century.
Teen actress Lotte Flack, who plays a young Joan in the film, is in town for tonight's sold-out premiere. A second showing has been scheduled for tomorrow at 3 pm. For more information on how to get tickets, click here.
