GEDDES -- Something new will be roaring into Central New York this Memorial Day weekend.

The producers of the Syracuse Nationals are bringing the Regional International King of Trucks All Truck Super Show to Syracuse. From May 27-29 an all-encompassing event open to all truck, vans, Jeeps and SUVs will take place at the State Fairgrounds.

More than 2,000 vehicles are expected to be driven into the area from the rest of the northeast and Canada. The Syracuse Convention & Visitors Bureau expects the truck show to bring in $2.1 million into the area.

As part of the festivities there will also be two obstacle courses for drivers to test their skills. At least 25,000 people are expected to attend the event. Admission ranges from $6 to $12 per day.

Right Coast Inc. is putting on the show. That group also puts on the Syracuse Nationals, which according to the Visitors Bureau has brought in more than $110 million to the local economy since the first event in 2000.
