SYRACUSE -- Update:
Syracuse police have released the name of the man shot overnight in Syracuse.
28-year-old Derrick Kelly walked into the emergency room at University Hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police say the shooting happened around 1:50 a.m. along the 500 block of Almond Street. Kelly told police he was a passenger in a car when shots were fired from another car, hitting him once in the torso.
Kelly is now recovering from non-life threatening injuries.

Syracuse police say they are investigating a shooting that took place at 1:50 this morning in the 500 block of Almond Street.
Police were first notified of the incident when a male subject arrived at University Hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police are not releasing the name of the victim and say his wound does not appear to be life threatening. Police are not releasing any other details at this time.
