SYRACUSE -- A packed house inside the Carrier Dome for Relay for Life.
Close to 2,500 students are putting their best foot forward for the event, which wraps up around 5 am Sunday. Cancer survivors kicked off the night's festivities with the first walk around the Carrier Dome. So far, close to $150,000 has been raised. Students say Relay for Life is a very special event for them.
"Every single person makes a difference," said SU freshman Taylor Guy. "Every person coming out and supporting (the event) make(s) a huge difference even if it's just one night."
"I think it just shows the kind of spirit SU has the camaraderie we all have together," said SU freshman Timothy Guy.
Organizers said 97% of all people at Relay for Life are students. This is the 9th Relay for Life at Syracuse University.
