Pair also accused of breaking into van, stealing

VOLNEY, OSWEGO CO. -- Two Oswego County women are facing numerous charges in an alleged scheme to get prescription drugs.

Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say 22-year-old Patricia Stauring, of 589 CR 85 in Fulton, stole a prescription pad from a Town of Volney medical facility on April 4th and gave it to 32-year-old Susan Ladd.

Stauring is charged with conspiracy, violation of education law and petit larceny. She was arraigned in the Town of New Haven Court and sent to the Oswego County Correctional Facility.

Ladd, 32, of 4155 SR 69 in Mexico, is charged with conspiracy, possession of a forged instrument and criminal possession of stolen property. Investigators say they found the stolen prescription pad in her car. They also say she forged at least one of the prescriptions and brought it to a pharmacy in Mexico.

Ladd is also facing charges from a traffic stop on CR 64 in Mexico. She's charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Authorities say she had hydrocodone without a prescription.

Ladd was arraigned in the Town of New Haven Court and sent to the Oswego County Correctional Facility.

Ladd and Stauring were arrested again the same day for breaking into a van in the Town of Minetto on March 16th and allegedly stealing a pursue, money and personal papers along with credit and debit cards.

Deputies say they used the cards to make unauthorized purchases from a Mexico convenience store and take cash out of a Mexico bank.

The two are charged with criminal mischief, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny. They were arraigned in the town of Richland Court and sent to the Oswego County Correctional Facility.
