CAMILLUS -- Camillus police say a driver hauling a trailer containing scrap metal lost control on Route 5 this morning, flipping over.
Police say the driver was westbound on the four lane highway portion of Route 5 when the crash happened around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.
The truck flipped over, spilling its content into the eastbound lanes.
Rescue crews extricated the driver and took him to the hospital with a non-life threatening head injury.
Route 5 between Ike Dixon Road and Route 174 was closed for about four hours while work crews remove the truck and cleaned up its spilled contents. The road reopened around 12:15.

An overturned truck has closed the east bound lanes of state route 5 between Ike Dixon Road and Newport Road in the town of Camillus.
An advisory from the New York State Department of Transportation reported the road could remain closed for up to four hours.
The Onondaga County 911 center reports one person was transported from the scene by ambulance, but they do not know the extent of the person's injuries.
The accident occurred where the four lane expressway of route 5 exits to the two lane highway just outside the village of Camillus.
The accident was first reported at about 8:05 this morning.
