The New York State Department of Transportation (N.Y.S.D.O.T.) is alerting motorists of road work scheduled for this week that may impact travel on various roadways in Central New York:
SHORT-TERM PROJECTS ONONDAGA COUNTY:
Bridge Maintenance
Monday, April 18, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
I-481 Northbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, left lane closed approaching and crossing over the Kirkville Road Bridge. Access to and from Exit 5 (Kirkville Road) will be maintained.
Bridge Repair
Tuesday, April 19, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
I-81 Northbound Mainline: Reduced to 2 lanes, Left lane closed approaching and crossing over the I-90 (New York State Thruway) bridge. Access from Exit 25 (7th North Street) and to Exit 25A (I-90 New York State Thruway) will be maintained.

Tuesday, April 19, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
I-81 Southbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, Left and center lanes closed just beyond the on-ramp from Exit 26 (Mattydale) to Exit 25 (7th North Street) off-ramp.

Wednesday, April 20, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
I-481 Northbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, Right lane closed approaching and crossing over the Kirkville Road Bridge. Access to and from Exit 5 (Kirkville Road) will be maintained.

I-481 Northbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, right lane closed approaching and crossing over the Northern Boulevard Bridge in the Town of Cicero. Access to and from Exit 8 (Northern Boulevard) will be maintained.

Bridge Repair
Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 19 to 5 p.m. Friday, May 20.
I-81 Southbound Mainline: Reduced to two lanes, left lane closed approaching and crossing over the I-90 (New York State Thruway) bridge. Access to and from Exit 25A (I-90) will be maintained.
Bridge Repair
Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through Friday, June 3, 2011.
U.S. Route 11 Southbound: Right lane closed from Bailey Road to the I-81 northbound off-ramp in Mattydale. Access to I-81 south and access from I-81 north will be maintained.
Bridge Repair
Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through Monday, June 13, 2011.
U.S. Route 11 Northbound: Reduced to two lanes, left lane closed from Sand Road to the split with South Bay Road in Mattydale at which point there will be a lane shift to a right lane closure which will reduce travel to one lane, approaching and crossing under the I-81 overpass in Mattydale. Access to and from I-81 north will be maintained.

Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through June 30, 2011.
N.Y. Route 695 Southbound Ramp: On-ramp from State Fair Blvd. in Lakeland is closed to all traffic.
Details for the signed Detour follow: Enter I-690 west at State Fair Blvd, proceed west to Exit 5 (State Fair Boulevard/ Van Vleck Road) to I-690 east, then proceed east to Exit 6 (Route 695 southbound).

Bridge Repair
Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through approximately June 30, 2011.
I-81 Northbound Mainline: Left lane closed approaching and crossing under the Bartell Road Bridge at Exit 31 (Brewerton) and over the Barge Canal/Oneida Lake Outlet Bridge in Brewerton. Access to and from Exit 31 (Bartell Road-Brewerton) will be maintained.
Bridge Repair
Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through approximately June 30, 2011.
I-81 Southbound: Reduced to one lane of travel, left and center lanes closed, approaching and crossing over the Barge Canal/ Oneida Lake Outlet Bridge in Brewerton.
The scheduled road, ramp and lane closures listed above are subject to change due to adverse weather conditions or unforeseen logistical complications. Other lane, ramp or road closures not yet scheduled may occur that do not appear on this report.
