Law enforcers and several drugstores in Central New York are part of a nationwide effort to get prescription drugs disposed of safely. The DEA is coordinating the event, as part of an effort to stop prescription drug abuse, but expired over the counter medications are being accepted as well. The DEA website has a county-by county listing of where you can drop, after you clean out your medicine cabinet. The dropoff runs 10am - 2pm on Saturday.
