Event also celebrates Syr. church merger
This year's Dorothy Day awards dinner is set for Thursday evening, at St. Lucy's church gym.
Sister Pat Bergan, with the Parish Association at St. Lucy's, says the dinner is a major fundraiser for the Syracuse Dorothy Day House, which helps at-risk and abused women and children. It's named after social activist Dorothy Day.
The dinner is also on the 2nd year anniversary of the merger of St. Lucy and St. Andrews parishes on the Syracuse west side, another reason for celebration on Thursday. For more information on the event, 569-8971 or www.stlucys.org
