An update now on a story we brought you in April about a push for an online list of convicted criminals.

State Senator Mike Nozzolio says the legislation called "Brittany's Law" was approved by the Crime Victims, Crime and Correction Committee earlier this week.

"Brittany's Law" is named after 12-year-old Brittany Passalacqua, who was murdered along with her mother by a violent convicted felon who had been released from prison early and put on parole just months earlier. John Edward Brown is now serving 40-years to life for the crime.

The bill is now in the hands of the Senate Finance Committee for approval before it makes it to the Senate floor for a vote.
