As we are heading toward (although it hasn’t felt like it lately) our Northern Hemisphere summer, nights around the Arctic circle are slowly, but surely, getting brighter. Eventually, midnight sun will pretty much demolish any chance of seeing an aurora. But not quite yet. Check out these images from photographer Yuichi Takasaka, taken up in Yukon, Canada. Take note of the beautiful green ribbon cutting right through the twilight. What’s impressive about this, is the face that the sun was a mere 9 degrees below the horizon. That means they were still in “Nautical Twilight”.
