The finishing touches are being put on the first ever Eastwood Carnival at the Shop City Plaza.
"It's really amazing," said 8-year-old Mitchell Powers.
Wednesday night the rides and concession stands were being set up in the Shop City Plaza. Area businesses are hoping more people add up to more sales. The Fish Cove has been in Eastwood for 60 years. Tonight, it's preparing more food to brace for the carnival crowds.
"I think it's good for my business. And I think it's great for the neighborhood, for families, for parents to bring their children," said Fish Cove owner Joe Falcone.
The Eastwood Neighborhood Association which is helping to put this on says it reinforces the sense of community in this neighborhood. In the past few years the group has been working to revitalize the "Village within the City".
The carnival runs through the weekend, opening Thursday at 5 PM and closing at 9 PM, Friday it's open from 5 - 10 PM, Saturday 12 - 10 PM, Sunday 12 - 5 PM. Wristbands are $15 and allow you to ride for 4 hours, or you can pay per ride.
