Our CNYcentral TV stations and the National Weather Service in Binghamton has a Severe Weather Spotter training course coming up next week in Syracuse. FREE of charge, but you must sign up.

This is a Basic SKYWARN training class (weather spotters) on Wednesday May 18th from 7 to 9 pm at the East Syracuse-Minoa High School. This class is for beginners or anybody that has a general interest in weather. The class is free and open to everyone (no age requirements or previous training). We will cover the basics of thunderstorms, tornadoes, flooding, while training you on how to report severe weather to the National Weather Service.

If you want to register for the class or have questions please respond via email to bgm.skywarn@noaa.gov or to Meteorologist Erik Heden on Facebook. When registering we need your name, number of attending, town you live in, phone number, and how you found out about the class.

We hope to see you there!
