SYRACUSE -- The Alliance Network has officially endorsed Joanie Mahoney for Onondaga County Executive. It is only the second time the organization has endorsed a republican for office.
Walt Dixie, Director of The Alliance Network, says Mahoney has worked as a partner on a number of important issues at the justice center and other initiatives.
"We are also proud of the way in which she has put together her administration," Dixie says. "She has chosen people for her administration based on talent and qualifications and not on politics. She has made it a priority to diversify county government, specifically has hired a mixture of democrats, republicans, and african americans to serve on her senior staff."
Mahoney was first elected to the Onondaga County Executive seat in 2007. So far, no one else has said they are running for the seat.
