UTICA -- A popular Central New York race has sold out.

The Boilermaker 15k road race reached its cap Saturday of 13,000. The race director says this is the first time the cap was reached so early.

"Never in our history when we have had a cap have we reached it at such an early date," said Tim Reed, executive director of the race. "When you add that we opened registration five months later than the 2010 race it makes hitting this number even more impressive."

The 5k race still has room available. This year's Boilermaker will take place Sunday, July 10th in Utica.
